Life on the Moon – Haydn

Performed in English

Libretto by Carlo Goldoni, Translation by James Conway (English Touring Opera)

Performed at Bristol Cathedral, Bristol

Saturday 28th August, 2021

(duration approximately 80mins - no interval)

A one-off performance of a lesser-known Haydn comedic and light opera buffa. Performed in English under the Moon, this is not to be missed.

If one were to draw a through-line from Mozart's The Magic Flute to Gilbert & Sullivan's light opera, Haydn's Life on the Moon would be on that line. Light and frothy, this opera buffa is sure to be an entertaining evening, perfectly staged under the Moon.

All proceeds from donations during the presentation of the Museum of the Moon will go to St Mungo's homelessness charity. The Cathedral remains free to visit during the day. Please give generously.
